2021 Summer Adventures Update!

There appears to be enough interest in holding both summer adventures that we had to postpone last year.

Flaming Gorge Canoe Trip

We are tentatively planning on our Mini-Adventure Canoe trip to Flaming Gorge Reservoir, Utah from June 5th through June 13th (subject to Adult availability). As a reminder, our criteria is as follows:

  • 2nd year Scouts and older
  • Swimming Merit Badge attained
  • Pass your swim test in cold water (those who did it at Melita Island will still qualify; others can do it at our May campout)
  • Prefer those who have at least Canoeing and/or Kayaking merit badge, we can work to achieve this on the May campout as well)

We will likely only have enough adults to run one crew and therefore will be limiting attendance to 10 Scouts. First priority will go to those who had signed up last summer. Then we will open it up to the rest of the troop and keep a waitlist should anyone back out. See Mr. Bielkiewicz for more details.

Summer Camp in Wyoming

The troop has decided to venture out of state yet again, this time making the one day drive to Buffalo Bill Camp just outside of Yellowstone National Park near Cody, WY. The dates are July 11th to 18th. We anticipate a lot of interest in this one so we will publish more soon including an interest form and we will likely NEED ADULTS to help drive all the Scouts to camp. Attending camp makes most since since it’s a full day drive, but we will take “shuttle drivers” if necessary. Note that this camp has an option to visit Yellowstone NP mid-week so keep that in mind! Slots are filling up so we will need to sign up soon – see Mr. Bielkiewicz if you are interested in attending (Scouts and Adults!).
