Troop 640
Join us on October 5th for Caleb’s Eagle Court of Honor. Details in the image below!

Hi everyone! This is Chris Naber, Troop 640 Assistant Scoutmaster and Lieutenant Popcorn Kernel (my wife Jen is the Kernel 😁). This message is being sent to all families registered with the troop and a couple who are in the process of transferring to Troop 640.
Currently, scouts and leaders owe the troop around $8,000! This is significant as it prevents the troop from making required advanced payments for activities, maintaining equipment, and providing financial assistance for scouts in need.
But, rest assured, we have a solution…SELLING POPCORN! Participating in the troop’s popcorn fundraiser is a convenient and easy. Right now, we only have 7 of 30 scouts participating. Of those 7 scouts, 3 scouts are responsible for almost 75% of our troop’s sales. We need everyone’s participation for a successful fundraiser to keep scouting affordable! Even scouts aging out in the coming months can help by selling popcorn and directing their commissions to the troop.
Fortunately, getting involved with the fundraiser is super easy!
Step 1 – Download the Trails End App and log in if you already have an account from previous years. If you don’t already have an account, use Unit Code JX9KS when prompted to connect to Troop 640’s sales. This code can also be used to transfer from another troop or cub scout pack into Troop 640’s fundraiser.
Step 2 – Decide if you want to sell at a storefront, door to door (wagon sales), online or any combination of the three options.
Step 3 – Depends on Type of Sales…
Step 3a – Storefront sales, use the Trails End App sign up for storefront sales shifts, then show up at the store for your selected shift (in uniform) and ask customers if they will support scouting. Then, log each sale using the app. If you’re the first shift, Jen or I will coordinate picking up popcorn for the sale. If you’re the last shift, we will coordinate returning unsold popcorn and any cash from sales.
Step 3b – Wagon sales, reach out to me or Jen and we’ll check out popcorn to you to sell door to door or to friends and family as cash and carry sales.
Step 3c – Online sales, using the app, log into your account, tap the share button next to the “Make a Sale” button to share your scout’s personal popcorn sales website with friends and family, near and far.
Step 4 – Select the reward for total sales earned by your scout. Rewards are based on total of all sales, including online sales! Rewards are e-gift cards from numerous retailers including Amazon, Cabela’s, and Target, to name a few.
Step 5 – Sit back and enjoy not having to write checks to the troop for activities!
Please reach out to me or my wife Jen for wagon sales inventory and with any questions, concerns, or difficulties you have with the app. Our contact information is below!

Please check your Trails End app and make sure everything is up to date. We will be picking up our popcorn very soon! Show and Sells will be available to sign up for in the app on August 11th. Sales will begin the evening of Friday, 8/22.
