Florida Sea Base in 2023

We will be having our interest meeting for the 2023 Sea Base trip at our December 6th meeting. PARENTS: Please come prepared to COMMIT to this trip if your Scout is interested. We will determine, at that meeting, amongst the Scouts going, what adventure we want to sign up for in Florida (or St. Thomas) because we need to sign up on January 12th to ensure we get our preferred dates and adventure.

In the meantime, Sea Base held a last minute Facebook Live event last week to help answer common questions about the various choices. This is available on Facebook and perhaps below (if I can get this to work). It’s about 45 minutes long and covers each of the adventure areas. While I’m open to most choices, I think SCUBA, Sailing, and St. Thomas are the most intriguing (they are the last 3 topics covered in the session).

2023?!?! But, isn’t that almost 2 years away still??? YES! However, Florida Sea Base is one of the most popular High Adventure Bases in the country and prime weeks will fill up within minutes of being made available!

So, yours truly will be hosting a crew of older Scouts to Sea Base in the summer of 2023. We need to have an initial informational meeting about this amazing trip to decide what we want to sign up for and our preferred dates. The 2023 season will be opened for signups on January 12th, 2022 so we need to start initial planning NOW!

Keep your eyes peeled for more information and start thinking about your preferences. My intention is to bring older Scouts (15+ years old) only, however if there is enough interest in 13-14 year-olds and adults to lead them, it’s possible we could bring a second crew. This is not a cheap trip so start saving money and keep selling that popcorn!
