May Fishing Campout – UPDATE!
5/1/22 Update:
If you haven’t signed up yet, please register to attend ASAP! We still need a couple of adults to help drive. We will spend some of our time working on the Fishing Merit Badge. Worksheets and requirements can be found here: http://www.usscouts.org/mb/mb052.asp
Also please start paring attention to the weather in Grand Lake, CO as this is the area we’ll be camping in and winter conditions can still occur this time of year!
Do you like fishing? Do you want to learn how to fish? Want to earn the fishing merit badge? If you answered yes or maybe to any on these questions you need to sign up to attend the Troop 640 fishing trip in May!
We will be traveling to Shadow Mountain Reservoir near Grand Lake and camping at Green Ridge Campground. We have sites 2, 3, 5, & 6 reserved right next to the water! While we are there we will learn some fishing knots, a few different fishing rigs, and we might even get to cook a fish or two!
No experience is necessary! Bringing your own fishing gear is helpful, but not required. If you want attend, but don’t have a fishing pole, please let me know as soon as possible. All Colorado fishing regulations apply. All attendees over 18 must have a valid fishing license. All attendees who wish to fish with two poles must have a second rod stamp.
Fishing is a lifelong sport and I’m looking forward to taking scouts on this trip. Please feel free to contact me with any questions!
