For everyone who is signed up for summer camp, the next step is to sign up for merit badges. The basic process for your scout(s) to look at the merit badge course catalog and choose your preferred merit badges. Keep in mind there are four merit badge sessions, Mo/Tu morning, Mo/Tu afternoon, We/Th morning, We/Th afternoon. Also be aware some merit badges take more than one session and some are only a single day (horsemanship). Some merit badges have an additional fee and this will be charged to your scout account.
New Scouts: First-year scouts are automatically signed up for “Trappers Rendezvous” which will get your scouts well on their way to First Class. In addition, BDSR also provides three merit badges during the sessions; Scouting Heritage, Basketry, and Leatherworking. Exceptions can be made, please reach out to your SMiC (Chris Naber) to discuss.
From the Leaders Guide:
Not only will Scouts work on requirements for rank, they will also be working on
