Scouting For Food
Scouting America does a food drive each November, called Scouting for Food. Troop 640 is participating this year as the community needs are enormous. The Troop’s help in the food drive is greatly appreciated by the local food pantry, Julia Greeley Center.
The process is simple. Put out the door tags around your neighborhood. Just hang them on the door, no need to even knock. Please do this before Friday, 7 November.
Then on Saturday, 15 November, walk around the neighborhood and collect the food that neighbors have put out on their porches. Again, you don’t even have to knock on doors.
Bring all the food you collect to the Julia Greeley Food Pantry on the west side of Light of the World Catholic Church (10306 W Bowles Ave, Littleton, CO 80127) at Noon on Saturday, 15 November. Mrs. Ross has arranged for that time to give the donations to the food bank. If you have any issues, contact Mr. Ross 720-757-0862 or Mrs. Ross 720-757-0864.
If you can’t make it at Noon on the 15th, arrange to drop it with the Ross family, or donate to another food bank of your choice.
We have already handed out the door tags, but if you didn’t get any, please contact the Ross family. The door tags, will be available at the meeting on Monday, Nov 3.
