(Special) Stargazing Event

Update: We will meet Monday around 4:45pm at the amphitheater at Clement Park. To get there, drive past the Library as you enter the park and park in the first parking lot at the top of the hill. Then walk through the pavilions to the field which faces the amphitheater and lake. We will meet either in one of the pavilions or on the field.

Bring your telescope or powerful binoculars if you have one! The forecast is calling for clear skies and 49 degrees so hopefully that holds up and we will have a great viewing! But we shouldn’t have to remind you to BE PREPARED with clothing for changing conditions.

We don’t anticipate staying much beyond the setting of the stars, so parents, please stick around and enjoy this one with your Scouts! And PLEASE WEAR A MASK and keep your distance – we can only do this if we abide by all local rules and regulations. Thanks and we will see you all Monday evening!

Mark your calendars for December 21st! Instead of our normal virtual meeting, we will be meeting earlier at Clement Park where we will spread out at the amphitheater to observe the once-in-a-lifetime event of two planets coming so close together, they will appear to form one massive “star” in the evening sky!

Of course this will be weather-permitting – look for an update in next weeks newsletter!
