We had a chilly, but fun weekend in the mountains! We departed the church right on time around 5pm and made it to the tubing hill in Fraser around 7pm. We started our 2 hour block at about 7:15pm and zipped up and down the mountain in single-digit temps until just after 9pm. We then made our way to the Church of the Eternal Hills just about 10 minutes down the road in Tabernash where the thermometers in the cars read a brisk -3 degrees. After a quick snack and setup, we had lights out around 11pm.
We started the arduous task of waking up at 6:30pm and ate breakfast burritos, oatmeal, and juice while we packed up and headed out to Granby Ranch Ski “Resort.” After the 10 minute drive to the ski resort, we unloaded the gear, got our lift tickets sorted, and started skiing/snowboarding in 4 degree temps! Mrs. Mackey did a great job giving lessons to those who needed it and the rest scattered across the vast terrain that is Granby Ranch with a short break for lunch at the lodge.
We met back up at 4pm, packed the cars, and headed back down the hill where traffic was lighter than expected. We got back around 6:30pm.
