Wood Badge

Howdy,

If you serve in any kind of position as an adult volunteer or leader here at 640, please consider registering for and attending the Spring Wood Badge course at MPV this April.
Lord Baden-Powell originally designed Wood Badge so that Scouters could learn the skills and methods of Scouting. It is first and foremost, learning by doing. The course has evolved into the core leadership skills training course for the BSA. It focuses on strengthening every volunteer’s ability to work with and lead groups of youth and adults.

It will be an inspiring and potentially life-changing experience as a Scouting volunteer that will have a positive impact on your life outside of Scouting. You’ll make new friends, learn more about the program and a bit about yourself. While it is a bit of an investment, the Troop is willing to pay for half of the course as an investment in you. I hope you can join me there this April:

2024 Spring Course

April 5-7, 2024 (Fri/Sat/Sun) and April 20-21, 2024 (Sat/Sun). Join us for two wonderful weekends enjoying McNeil Scout Ranch at Peaceful Valley. Burke Benton will be the Course Director and Jon Strauss will be the Senior Patrol Leader. The cost of Wood Badge is $350 and must be paid online and in full by February 28, 2024. No provisions are available to pay at camp.

Peace,
Jon C Strauss
