Wood Badge
Why go to Wood Badge?
Well, it’s not simply another adult BSA training program. While it is a leadership course, it is also a course that will make you want to be a better Scouter. This will then spread into several other life roles: parent, spouse, co-worker, etc. The best part is that all of our boys will benefit from having a cadre of volunteers who attended this potentially life-changing event.
As I mentioned, I am staffing this Fall – as I have staffed other courses, and I know this one will be very special. Great care has been taken to select instructors and guides who will undergo team development over the next several months. In September, they will feel like a family eager to welcome the participants to two weekends filled with joy, adventure and learning.
It is a fun, energetic, and inspiring course guaranteed to infuse your Scouting experience with new meaning – all designed to fulfill the mission of the BSA, and ensure that our youth are getting everything they are promised from the program. Based on a century of scouting experience, Wood Badge draws upon current leadership models used by corporate America, academia, and successful organizations throughout the country. Expect to develop skills in many areas, including leadership theory, team building, problem-solving, communication, project planning, and more. You can also expect a lot of laughter…and maybe some tears.
It’s a big commitment, and I know you feel like you don’t have time for it. After you’ve attended, making your time matter will be far more important to you.
